Getting Ready for Cocktail: The Event

Alright foodies, cocktail enthusiasts and Saturday Night Fever fanatics, tickets for Cocktail: The Event on Friday, July 21 from 8 p.m to midnight are sold out. This year’s '70s disco-themed event will have food and drinks from 31 San Antonio restaurants and bars all at the McNay Art Museum (6000 N New Braunfels) for one night. 

Sip '70s-style cocktails from Arcade Midtown Kitchen, BarbaroBlue Box, The Brooklynite/Stay Golden, Cured at the Pearl, George’s Keep, Green Lantern, The Esquire Tavern, Hot Joy, Naked Iguana, Paesano’s Lincoln Heights, Tacoland/The Worm, TBA, Umai Mi and more. 

Tasty bites from Rio Rio CantinaBite, SA Pops, Esquire Tavern, Say.She.Ate, Knife & Fork, Paesano’s Lincoln Heights, The Monterey, Vida Mia, Cured, Tony Roma’s, Tuk Tuk, Joseph’s Storehouse & Bakery and Urban Taco will also be on hand.

All this takes place on the Blackburn patio, Brown Foundation Sculpture Terrace, AT&T Lobby, reception hall and the dance floor is in the Leeper Auditorium. There will be six different stages with go-go dancers, four live bands and DJs. From 8 to 10 p.m. (yes, the event was pushed back to avoid the heat) the McNay's "Beauty Reigns: A Baroque Sensibility in Recent Paintings" will be available for viewing. Food and drinks will be indoors and outdoors with tents and air conditioning outdoors.

Sounds solid gold enough? Gold ticket holders will be able to park onsite at the McNay Art Museum with valet parking and receive a swag bag. Silver ticket holders can park at Alamo Heights High School (6900 Broadway) and take a complimentary shuttle to the event. Three different buses will go from the school to the event starting at  7:45 and run until 12:15.
