You may have seen this (obviously Photoshopped) image circulating both in Whataburger-loving and crafter beer-focused social media groups this weekend. Turns out you'll have to wait a while longer for this dream to become reality.
The post, though it uses the classic Whataburger colors and Shiner fonts, is actually fake news.
The image first posted to reddit has been deleted and Whataburger's corporate communication team basically sent a statement that's the equivalent of bless their hearts:
"While we tip our hat to another great Texas legend, Whataburger doesn’t have any plans to serve beer at our restaurant or get into the beer business. We appreciate all the enthusiasm from our fans and we welcome them to swing by a restaurant for a root beer."
Whatabummer.
