San Antonio diner chain The Hayden has revived its popular Jewish Chinese Christmas menu for a fourth consecutive year, and it will offer the items at both of its locations.

Available this Wednesday through Sunday Dec. 22, the menu pays tribute to the American Jewish tradition of eating Chinese food on Christmas Day. Homages to the tradition are present across the seasonal menu via entrees including sweet-and-sour orange-apricot chicken and hoisin-glazed pot roast.

In an emailed statement, The Hayden owner Adam Lampenstein said guests have been asking about the menu for months, making its revival a “no-brainer.”

“Some [Jewish Chinese Christmas menu items] we have brought back from years past, some are completely new — but in the same spirit of diner and deli favorites reimagined for this silly but delicious event,” Lampenstein said.

Festive food calls for festive cocktails, and The Hayden’s specialty menu features several — a red sake sangria, a Blue Hawaiian for tiki drink fans and a green tea-lychee martini among them.

Reservations are strongly encouraged while the The Hayden offers its Jewish Chinese Christmas menu at both locations, 4025 Broadway, and 10003 NW Military Highway, #2115.
