San Antonio’s Web House Café & Bar has reopened after temporarily shutting down last week to mourn the death of its beloved owner, Mikhail “Mischka” Timofeyev.

Please honor Mischka’s memory by stopping in for a bite to eat or better still, toasting him with a shot of vodka,” regular patron Kim Hubbeling said last Thursday in a Facebook post announcing the reopening.

A friend has established a GoFundMe account to help Timofeyev’s husband Manny cover funeral expenses. As of press time, $4,135 of the $7,000 fundraising goal had been raised. On Sunday, the community also banded together for a barbecue plate sale to generate additional money.

“Mischka and Web House provided a place for many of us when other places made us feel unwelcomed,” GoFundMe organizer and patron Alyssa Rose wrote in the fundraiser’s description. “He was very involved in his community and helped others without hesitation. He gave opportunities to musicians, helped feed and clothe the less fortunate, and was always quick to offer us off menu items because he enjoyed sharing; that was just the type of person he was.”

Timofeyev’s celebration of life will take place Saturday, Feb. 1, according to a Facebook post by the business.

Patrons also said on Facebook Web House will host a screening of a short documentary about Mischka, The Secrets of Mischka: Revealed, sometime next month.
