The clear-cut barbecue smell immediately strikes the nose when stepping out in front of
Smokey Mo’s newest location on 1604 and Shaenfield Road, which opened September 26.
That is because its established mouth-watering barbecue is grilled on Southern Pride BBQ Pits, according to Breanna Alba, the location’s general manager.
“We have recipes that we have to follow,” she said about her store’s cooking procedures being in line with the other 15 Smokey Mo’s restaurants in Texas since their inception in 2000. “It’s really big of our company to keep consistency.”
Another one of Smokey Mo’s food service values said Alba, who previously managed a Shipley Do-nuts for seven years, is high on providing is a family friendly atmosphere. “We want everybody to feel welcome here, eat good food and enjoy the experience,” she said.
Daily lunch specials are served five days a week. Monday, Tuesday and Friday specials – turkey pork loin and sausage, respectively – come with two sides of your choice and a small drink. Wednesday special includes Mo’s Country Salad, which includes one meat ( brisket, turkey, pork loin or sausage), and a small drink, and Thursday features chopped baker, with butter, sour cream, cheese, and chives, and a small drink.
Hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays.
