Tycoon Flats Launches Breakfast Menu

Always on the hunt for breakfast/brunch joints, I stumbled on a Facebook post by Tycoon Flats (2926 N St. Mary's) this afternoon that immediately grabbed my attention: a photo of fluffy pancakes drizzled with nuts and dried berries. Turns out burger-haven Tycoon Flats is diving into the breakfast market this Saturday and Sunday from 7 to 11 a.m.

Owner Richard Hartman says the menu will feature seven or eight items, along with a few a la carte treats, at around $6-$9. Tycoon's offerings will include American-style favorites along with Belgian waffles, eggs benedict, an eggs Florentine sandwich and pancakes, both regular and of the sweet potato variety. The restaurant will also feature Tuaca and cinnamon french toast, which sounds promising.

The idea for breakfast came to him after the restaurant started serving a Benedict Burger as a special with a poached egg and topped with Hollandaise sauce.

Mimosas and Absolut Bloody Mary's will be available, and Hartman hopes to expand into a full-blown Bloody bar in the next few weeks.
