Bakery Lorraine // The ever-growing local bakery chain has desserts covered for your holiday parties. Bakery Lorraine will have pies, Buches de Noel and limited edition holiday-themed macaron boxes available for special order. Special macaron flavors include peppermint, eggnog, gingerbread and more. Yep, you supply the meat and Davila’s will take care of the rest. Esquire Tavern/Downstairs at Esquire // Go seasonal when you get boozy and order the aged eggnog. The traditional libation follows a recipe dating back to the 1700s, in which eggnog is prepared well in advance before it is consumed. In this case, the vintage goes back to November. Beginning Tuesday, December 18, bar-goers will be able to try the authentic eggnog, while it lasts. Krause’s Cafe // If you feel like heading up to New Braunfels, why not stop by Krause’s? This Comal County staple will offer family-friendly fun with Santa pictures from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, and Sunday, December 23. While the kids are excited about Santa, adults can nibble on German or Munich platters, with selections like pork belly, chicken schnitzel, sausages, sauerkrat and dunkel reduction. For dinner, Las Canarias will go the seafood route, while also offering carved meats. Meadow Neighborhood Eater & Bar // The still-new eatery is going all out for the holiday. Meadow will host a Santa Brunch on Sunday, December 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. On top of holiday cocktails like Hot Toddy, bourbon eggnog and cranberry mimosas, parents can enjoy the usual brunch menu while little ones get their pictures with Santa Claus and decorate sugar cookies. Couples can opt for something a bit more elevated and stop by the pre-fixe dinner on Christmas Eve, from 5 to 8 p.m. Those who want to have Meadow prepare an at-home holiday dinner can place an order for the 10-person meal with ham, roasted Brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes, roasted root vegetables, dinner rolls and more.
