Arthouse at Blue Star this Friday will hold a free screening of Resistance & Joy, an innovative film program amplifying the voices of BIPOC documentary filmmakers.
This dynamic screening tour, presented by Color Congress and Monte Video, features five groundbreaking films that capture the spirit of social justice, the fight for equality and the enduring power of resistance over the span of a near two-hour event.
Following the screening of Ternura Radical by Texas-based filmmaker Celina Galicia, in which women in Ciudad Juárez transform art into fierce acts of resistance against rampant disappearances and femicides, a guest moderator from San Antonio’s P.E.A.C.E Initiative will lead a thought-provoking discussion exploring the film’s themes and impact.
Free, 7 p.m. Friday, June 27, Arthouse at Blue Star, 134 Blue Star, (210) 212-9373, colorcongressinitiative.org.
