(If that’s too obscure for you, kids, think early Iron Maiden.) But, since it’s not 1981, we’ll have to settle for them headlining Thursday at the Mix.
Haunt guitarist/vocalist Trevor William Church — yep, the guy from doom heavyweights Beastmaker — happens to be the son of Bill Church, bassist for ’70s proto-metalers Montrose, which might explain his affinity for retro-riffage.
San Francisco’s Hell Fire, recently signed to RidingEasy Records, and Austin’s Duel round out Thursday’s bill with a similarly old-school approach to Marshall worship. Strap on those bullet belts.
