After it looked like Bob Dylan would snub San Antonio on his 2026 waltz through Texas, turns out we’ll have a chance to see the legendary singer-songwriter at Whitewater Amphitheater in New Braunfels this June.
The show, newly announced by the outdoor venue, will take place Tuesday, June 30. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, April 10, and start at $78 for general admission.
As if Dylan isn’t enough of a draw by himself, he’ll be joined by multiple Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Lucinda Williams and the John Doe Folk Trio, a side project of the founding bassist and vocalist of influential Los Angeles punk band X.
In addition to Whitewater, Dylan is also scheduled to play the Moody Amphitheater in Austin the night before.
Dylan, who’s 84, continues to tour in support of his 2020 album Rough and Rowdy Ways with a smattering of classic tracks spanning a 39-album career thrown in. Those frequently include “All Along the Watchtower,” “When I Paint My Masterpiece,” “To Be Alone With You” and “Man in the Long Black Coat.”
As such, the setlist isn’t quite identical to what was offered during his two-night stint at the Majestic in 2022.
However, Dylan’s recent sets don’t appear to show any deviation at all from night to night, heavily favoring his newest material, which is already six years old.
Nonetheless, the famed songwriter isn’t getting any younger. If you’re on the fence about buying tickets to see this living legend — especially at such a reasonable price — don’t think twice.
$78 and up, Friday, April 10, Whitewater Amphitheater, 11860 FM 306, New Braunfels, (830) 964-3800, whitewaterrocks.com.
