Eighties radio-pop icon Lionel Richie and legendary R&B group Earth, Wind & Fire will bring their 2026 North American tour to the Frost Bank Center on Tuesday, July 28, promoter Live Nation said Monday.
If the pairing of the two Rock & Roll Hall of Fame members evokes a sense of déjà vu, it’s probably because they toured together in 2024 — and even performed at the same San Antonio venue during that road jaunt.
So, that out of the way, “Let’s Groove,” as Earth Wind & Fire would say.
Known for hook-laden ballads and bops such as “Truly,” “Say You, Say Me,” and “Dancing on the Ceiling,” Richie has sold 125 million albums sold worldwide, winning an Oscar, a Golden Globe and four Grammys along the way. He also received the 2022 Gershwin Prize for Popular Song from the Library of Congress and has served as a judge on hit TV singing contest American Idol for 16 seasons.
For its part, Earth Wind & Fire’s horn-driven blend of pop hooks and funky syncopation have landed the group nine Grammys and made it one of the best-selling artists of all time. Indeed, eight of the band’s 23 albums have gone double platinum, and songs such as “September” and “Shining Star” continue to get regular dance floor play.
General tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, via Frost Bank Center and Ticketmaster. Those who sign up for Frost Bank Center’s All Access Newsletter and select the “Pop” genre can qualify for exclusive presale access.
