Alt-metal — or is it OK to call them nu-metal? — acts Mudvayne and Static-X brought their blend of horror theatrics and crunching riffs to the Boeing Center at Tech Port on Sunday night.
And whatever label you wanna slap on it, fans were all there for it.
Peoria, Illinois-based Mudvayne is touring to commemorate the 25th anniversary of its debut album, L.D. 50, and the band delivered all the ghoulish face paint and face-melting sonics fans could ask for.
Meanwhile, Static-X hit hard with its blend of electronics, industrial noise and thrash.
One could close ones eyes and imagine it was the early aughts again — complete with all the gnawing teen angst.
