As the summer begins in this city I continue my search for music to add onto the ever-important summer playlist, and with that I’ll jump in any direction for a band releasing a new noise. Last night, The Lost Project celebrated the release of their newest album, Far From Where You Are, at the Empire Theatre to a pretty nice looking crowd of local music enthusiasts.
Before we get rolling, I should mention that I was born with chromesthesia, the ability to see sound as colors. Prepared with an arsenal of music from all types of periods of The Lost Project's history, they created a colorful and euphoric experience of light. The music performed was a mixture of blues and whites from their synths and bass riffs, pinks in cotton candy textures with matte silver explosions that captured the crowd in amazement. Of course, their experience differs from mine.
Despite minor issues with the sound system and bass volume, The Lost Project’s music found a way into your arms and swept you up to dance with them. They hadn’t played together since February, which might have contributed to their successful night of playing their angst out in melodies. They danced, sang and played their souls out for the crowd, the first in the Empire Theatre's new local concert series Two Ten Empire.
