This week’s live music picks span continents and genres, from the crushing prog-metal of Ukraine’s Jinjer to the groove-heavy Mexican regional sounds of Los Aptos and the delightfully unhinged art-punk of Japan’s Tsushimamire. Whether you’re looking to bang your head, dance your ass off or embrace the weird, SA has you covered.

Jinjer, Enthos, Crystal Lake
Ukrainian metal export Jinjer seems to hit up San Antonio every time it goes on a headlining North American tour. The female-fronted quartet, which rose to prominence with the music video for its burner “Pisces,” is on the road in support of last year’s crushing progressive release Duel. With inspirations that run from Lamb of God to reggae to funk, Jinjer has evolved from its metalcore roots to a lyrical and musically diverse powerhouse. Death metallers Enthos and metalcore act Crystal Lake provide support. $53-$85.55, 7 p.m., Aztec Theatre, 104 N. St. Mary’s St., (210) 812-4355, theaztectheatre.com. — Brianna Espinoza

Mypilotis, The Dialtones, Little Joe and the Dead Boys
Austin’s The Dialtones is a one-of-a-kind act that combines compelling lyricism, synth-pop hooks and absolutely ripping guitar playing. The band is the brainchild of Lauren Gurgiolo, who has put in time with icons like Okkervil River, Octopus Project and the Heartless Bastards. Mypilotis and Little Joe and the Dead Boys are two of SA’s most exciting young bands, making this a can’t-miss show. $10, 9 p.m., The Lonesome Rose, 2114 N. St. Mary’s St., (210) 455-0233, thelonesomerose.com. — Bill Baird
Los Aptos
Los Aptos update regional Mexican music with groovy modern production, elements of psych-rock and loose home-recording vibes for a sound that’s somewhere between Norteño, chill wave and the music of Tame Impala. Great songs and production make Los Aptos feel like a soundtrack for the summer. $17, 8 p.m., Paper Tiger, 2410 N. St. Mary’s St., papertigersatx.com. — BB

Tsushimamire
In the history of Tsushimamire, Japan and Texas overlap more than expected — the band’s U.S. rep exploded after playing SXSW back in 2004. Since then, the punk trio has toured the globe and progressed musically, exploring more stylings on recent recordings. The act’s lyrics hit subjects like sex, death and even food, and its members don bright colors or flowered dresses. The band also released an original track titled “Break the Curse” for Fortnite. $18.37, 9 p.m., Lonesome Rose, 2114 N. St. Mary’s St., (210) 455-0233, thelonesomerose.com. — BE
