And, dude’s only 26 years old.
Age be damned, however, as one cursory listen through Milo’s extensive catalog on Bandcamp will show him as an old soul, wielding a wicked fast intelligence and a supreme gift for weaving in an out of odd rhythms, like a fighter toying with his opponent, hesitant to go for the knockout when the fight itself is so much fun. For fans of new school rappers like Earl Sweathshirt and Raury, or even older acts like Deltron 3030 and Shabazz Palaces, Milo will surely hit the spot.
He’ll be supported on this bill by hip-hop producer and frequent collaborator Kenny Segal, whose murky and mind-melting musical melanges deftly remind us that, when the recipe is just right, hip-hop can be as psychedelic as any genre out there. Get a taste of both Milo and Segal’s music below.
Chris Conde, one of SA’s brightest underground hip-hop minds, will open the show.
**Full disclosure: Conde is a staff writer for the San Antonio Current.
