The afternoon following Robert Plant and Saving Grace’s rousing Thursday night set of exotica-tinged folk at the Majestic Theatre, the former Led Zeppelin singer and members of the band were spotted in the King William Historic District.
Turns out the group had a day off before their Saturday show in Austin and scheduled a photo shoot for either upcoming releases or promo materials, according to a person familiar with the matter. The entourage spent a little more than an hour posing for shots in King William, including at the Liberty Bar, around some Victorian homes and a rustic-looking garage.
Despite Plant’s status as a rock god — magazines regularly vote him one of the genre’s GOAT frontmen — he and the band were remarkably laid back during the shoot, not to mention before and after the performance at the Majestic, the source added.
“He was completely low maintenance. So was the band,” the person added. “They just went with the flow — no rockstar treatment.”
