Longtime San Antonio favorite Saxon — one of the foundational bands of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal — will thunder back into town this spring.

The long-running act will play the Tobin Center on Friday, March 21, performing its career-defining 1980 album Wheels of Steel in its entirety. Vintage metal purveyors Riot V, helmed by San Antonio musician Don Van Stavern, and Lizzy Borden will open.

Tickets are on sale now and available online, via phone at (210) 223-8624 or in-person at the Tobin Center box office.

Saxon’s previous Alamo City performance took place last May, also at the Tobin Center. British proto-metal pioneers Uriah Heep opened.

$49.50-$109.50, 7 p.m. Friday, March 21, H-E-B Performance Hall, Tobin Center for the Performing Arts, 100 Auditorium Circle, (210) 223-8624, tobincenter.org.
