In 1993, after being noticed by Interscope Records on the strength of their debut EP Pleather, Texas post-grunge rock band the Toadies began recording their debut full-length Rubberneck.

Proving to be one of the most enduring and definitive rock albums of the 1990s, the Fort Worth four-piece landed themselves betwixt the biggest rock names of the decade, including Foo Fighters, Nirvana and Third Eye Blind. But y’all already know that story, and even though these dudes show up in S.A. once a year or so — Josabi’s in 2014 and Maverick Music Festival in 2015 — they’re still worth seeing to rock out to their hit “Possum Kingdom.”

$25, Thu Dec. 28, 8pm, Aztec Theatre, 104 N. St. Mary’s St., theaztectheatre.com.
