Fans, friends and family of the late conjunto pioneer Flaco Jiménez gathered Thursday night at the Carver Community Cultural Center for a public memorial service for the accordion maestro, who died last month at age 86. Speakers including former Mayor Ron Nirenberg talked about the Grammy winner’s influence and impact on San Antonio, and Los Texmaniacs were joined by performers including Jiménez’s brother Santiago for a musical sendoff worthy of a legend.
