Michelle Beadle After graduating from Boerne High School, Michelle Beadle initially studied law at the University of Texas in Austin. After three years, she decided that the law life wasn’t for her, left school and took three years off. She ended up enrolling at the University of Texas at San Antonio, from which she graduated. Josh Wolf Comedian Josh Wolf may not come across as the collegiate type, but he totally spent some time studying here in San Antonio. Okay, we can’t confirm that, but it is in fact true that the funnyman graduated from Trinity University. Travis Scott Though he never graduated, the University of Texas at San Antonio students take a lot of pride in calling Travis Scott one of their own. The Houston native briefly attended the local UT campus before dropping out his sophomore year to focus on his rap career. Alice Walton As the daughter of Walmart founder Sam Walton and Helen Walton, Alice Louise Walton probably didn’t need to college. But, it was probably better that she did, considering that she has an estimated net worth of $47 billion (yes, with a B), making her the second-richest woman in the world. Michael Nesmith After being born in Houston and growing up in Dallas, Michael Nesmith eventually landed in San Antonio. Before gaining fame in the ‘60s as the lead singer of The Monkees, Smith attended San Antonio College. While in school, he and John London won the college’s first-ever talent award. David Robinson Though he famously attended the United States Naval Academy, gaining him the nickname of the “Admiral,” Robinson decided to spend some time studying in San Antonio following his NBA career with the Spurs. In 2011, the basketball legend earned a Master of Arts in Administration, with a concentration in organizational development. Jaclyn Smith Houston native Jaclyn Smith moved to San Antonio in the mid-60s to attend Trinity University, where she majored in psychology and, no surprises here, drama. Gibby Haynes Before leading the Butthole Surfers, Gibby Haynes was quite the impressive undergrad while attending Trinity University. While there, he was captain of the basketball team, president of his fraternity and must have done well in his classes due to his being named Accounting Student of the Year. Nerd alert! William A. Moody (aka Paul Bearer) Wrestling fans will be delighted to know that the late Paul Bearer spent some time in San Antonio. Moody served in the U.S. Air Force for four years and attended San Antonio College before studying at a university in his home state of Alabama. Pedro Herrera III (aka Chingo Bling) Despite being professionally known as Chingo Bling, Pedro Herrera III actually has a solid education. Bobby Pulido Jose Roberto Pulido Jr., professionally known as Bobby Pulido, may be from the valley, but he spent some of his formative years here in the Alamo City. Pulido was accepted to St. Mary’s University, where he studied business management. Bob West Though you probably wouldn’t recognize his face, actor Bob West is definitely recognizable for his voice. As the man who first voiced Barney, Bob West brought to life the world of the bright purple dinosaur on Barney & Friends after attending Trinity University.. Bruce Bowen Following his NBA career, which he finished out with the Spurs, basketball star Bruce Bowen took some classes at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Francis Richard ”Dick” Scobee Before his impressive career in flight, Dick Scobee first enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1957. While serving as a reciprocating engine mechanic at Kelly Air Force Base, Scobee spent his time out of work to attend classes at San Antonio College. John Cornyn Though he now represents all of Texas, Sen. John Cornyn must have a soft spot for San Antonio. After studying journalism and being an active member of Chi Delta Tau, Cornyn graduated from Trinity University in 1973. Cornyn also earned a Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University in 1977.
