A former Bexar County jailer charged with murder in connection with the beating death of an inmate was arrested this week on a new charge, according to KSAT-TV.

And he’s since posted bail — again, the Express-News reports.

Bexar County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Clemente Lopez Jr., 20, Wednesday on charges of engaging in organized criminal activity, according to the daily. He reportedly posted bail and was released the following day.

Lopez was charged with murder earlier this month after admitting to investigators with the Texas Rangers that on April 28 he opened the door to a jail cell, enabling the alleged assault of an inmate named Francisco Bazan, an arrest affidavit shows.

In the document, authorities said Lopez stood outside the cell and laughed as other inmates allegedly pummeled the man to death over a $40 debt.

Lopez was released on $500,000 bond on May 3, the day after he was charged with murder.
