Tonight, you can combine them when the New Leaders Council San Antonio and MOVE Texas host a voter registration party at Burleson Yard Beer Garden.
Members of the two progressive groups will register voters from 6-8:30 p.m. Elected officials including former HUD Secretary Julian Castro and council members Ana Sandoval and Manny Pelaez will speak, starting at 7.
The event ties in with National Voter Registration Day (which is today, in case you haven’t already inked it onto your calendar). Oct. 9 is the last day Texans can register to vote in the Nov. 6 midterm elections.
“By 2019, Millennials will make up the largest living adult generation in America, and collectively they will be the most powerful voices in our electorate,” said Mark Riddle, president of New Leaders Council, which focuses on training young progressive leaders. “But first, they must engage in the process, register to vote, and cast a ballot on November 6.”
