Millie after being pulled out of the dumpster.
One local animal advocacy group is stepping up to help Millie, the dog found dying in a West Side dumpster on Thursday, April 21.

The Alamo Heights Kennel Club is offering a $500 reward for any information about Millie. The City of San Antonio's Animal Care Services Department is currently investigating the case to find out who was responsible for her.

The dumpster was approximately at the corner of Tampico Street and Sand Court. An animal care officer removed the five-year-old Labrador mix from the bottom of the dumpster, where she was found "underneath bags of trash as well as old pizza boxes, empty soda cans and other debris."

ACS is currently treating Millie, who was suffering from heat stroke when found. If no one comes forward with information about the case, the kennel club will give the $500 to ACS to put toward Millie's treatment.

If you have information about the case, call 311.
