The former H-E-B Vice President and Central Market founder who was found guilty of 48 counts of possession and promotion of child pornography has been sentenced to a decade in federal prison.
John Campbell, 66, was arrested in 2014 after he accidentally attached a pornographic image of a minor to a work email sent to an H-E-B employee, who then contacted police.
On January 5, Campbell was sentenced to 10 years for the promotion of child pornography and 8 years on the counts relating to possession of child pornography. The two sentences will run concurrently, meaning the maximum time he will serve in prison is 10 years.
During his September trial, members of the jury were shown more than 50 digital images and videos of child pornography found on Campbell’s computer. Some of the files were saved with numbers indicating the victim’s alleged ages, like “10and14” and “13yo.”
Campbell worked at H-E-B for 40 years, and was subsequently fired after his arrest.
