If you’re planning to enjoy the great outdoors that Texas has to offer, you might want to reconsider.

On Thursday, park rangers at Enchanted Rock tweeted that surface temperatures at the state park were reading at 133 degrees.

Weather reports from local news stations said Friday that this weekend will be even hotter. The heat index is expected to be between 105 and 110 degrees.

Park rangers also advised potential visitors to take every precaution necessary to avoid heat-related illnesses. They’ve had an increasing number of heat rescues, mostly from heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

If you’re set on visiting Enchanted Rock in the coming weeks, park rangers suggest stopping by in the early morning or late at night when the heat isn’t as bad.
