The father of a Muslim teen who was suspended from a Dallas-area school for bringing a clock to show his teachers is ready to sue, unless the City of Irving and the community’s school district pay $15 million.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that lawyers representing the family want $10 million from the city and another $5 million from the school district. They also want written apologies.

The teen, 14-year-old Ahmed Mohamed, was handcuffed in September and interrogated by police after school staff became suspicious that his science project might be a bomb. The teen was suspended for three days and eventually left the school and the country, moving to Qatar
