The former Genghis Grill near the intersection of Loop 1604 and U.S. Highway 281 is going Greek.
New concept 2 Greeks Grill is taking over the building at 1903 N. Loop 1604 E., Suite 1106, that once housed the shuttered location of the Mongolian-style barbecue chain. Construction on the new restaurant is expected to get underway in February, state filings show.
The new eatery is co-founded by Jerry Kouroumousis and his uncle Nick Zaimis. Kouroumousis told the Current the pair will begin serving customers in April.
“We at 2 Greeks Grill are going to bring authentic Greek gyros, souvlaki, kebabs and lots of other great delicious meals,” Kouroumousis said. “[We’ll also have] Greek desserts, and we will also be serving Greek wines and beers.”
Everything on the menu will be made in-house, according to Kouroumousis.
This will be the business partners’ first-ever location of the 2 Greeks concept, Kouroumousis added.
