Self-proclaimed citizen journalist Hernando Arce, a San Antonio resident, initially called on his more than 40,000 followers on social media platform X to camp outside department headquarters on election night to watch for suspicious trucks that could be carrying illegitimate ballots for Kamala Harris.
“We know that’s how the left stole the last election all over the country with these trucks coming in the middle of the night filled with ballots,” Arce tweeted Sunday.
However, as it became clear that Arce’s preferred candidate would carry Texas’ 40 electoral votes, the right-wing gadfly changed his mind regarding possible voter fraud.
“Trump wins Texas,” Arce wrote Tuesday night. “I will NOT be camping out at the election department HQ.”
As it later became clear Trump would not only win Texas but the nation, Arce — who made a name for himself by harassing refugees at San Antonio’s Migrant Resource Center — expressed excitement about the president-elect’s mass deportation plans.
“I would advise the 20 million illegal aliens to start packing and making plans to get the fuck out of my country,” Arce tweeted Wednesday.
“Wow, all of sudden, voter fraud is no longer a concern,” former Salon investigative reporter Zachary Petrizzo tweeted. “Funny how that happened.”
