Dozens of San Antonians gathered at Davis Park to celebrate the life of LGBT advocate Kenneth Garrett. He owned and helped operate Bonham Exchange, one of San Antonio’s oldest and most popular LGBT-friendly club, for more than 30 years.
Garrett was also the president of the Happy Foundation, named for Garrett’s late partner Arthur ‘Hap’ Veltman. The organization serves as an archive dedicated to preserving San Antonio LGBT history.
Garrett died in his sleep early February 8 at the age 69.
