A San Antonio H-E-B physician is out on bond after being accused of placing a hidden camera in a store bathroom with the intention of watching his colleagues undress, the Express-News reports.
Dr. Marshall Brittan Silva, 37, was arrested earlier this month and charged with invasive visual recording after admitting to police that he placed a recording device in the bathroom of the H-E-B Wellness Primary Care at 3922 Wiseman Road, according to the daily. He was released on June 11 on $10,000 bond, the report also states.
Police arrested Silva after another H-E-B employee discovered the device, which appeared to be a misplaced key fob, inside the store’s staff restroom, the Express-News reports. Upon further inspection, the fob turned out to be a video recording device equipped with an SD card, according to police records cited by the paper.
Police then questioned Silva, who told them that the device was his and that he intended to record his colleagues using the restroom, the daily reports. Silva also said he knew they used it to dress and undress for work, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by the Express-News.
In a statement, H-E-B said Silva has since been terminated from his position.
“We will work closely with law enforcement as they continue this ongoing investigation and will stay close to our partners as we work through this abhorrent incident,” an H-E-B spokesperson said.
The Texas Rangers are also now investigating the case, the Express-News reports.
