Hotel Emma, located at San Antonio’s Historic Pearl complex, has once again landed Michelin’s prestigious Two-Key designation, one of only three hotels in Texas to receive the coveted distinction and the only in San Antonio.

The 146-room luxury property set against San Antonio’s River Walk was honored after anonymous Michelin inspections assessed it based on five criteria: its architecture and interior design, quality and consistency of service, personality and character, value, and overall guest experience.

“We are incredibly proud to receive the Michelin Two-Key distinction representing the very highest level of global hospitality,” Emma CEO Jon Sakshaug said in a statement to the Current. “For the past 10 years we have strived to provide a highly curated and personalized experience rooted in a sense of place and genuine hospitality. The entire Hotel Emma team works tirelessly to uphold our high level of service every single day, and it is an honor to have their efforts recognized.”

Hotel Emma is a favorite among both international and domestic travelers, not only for its well-appointed interior and the accommodations but its elevated dining and cocktail establishments, Sternewirth and Supper.

Emma Executive Chef Geronimo Lopez, formerly of well-regarded fusion restaurant Botika, is another feather in the cap of the property’s culinary program.

The hotel, named for Emma Koehler, history-making female CEO of Pearl Brewery, is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year.
