The grounds of San Antonio’s Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa are about to get even more extravagant.
The latest stage of the luxury hotel’s ongoing renovations will include a 2.2-acre human-made lagoon, a handful of exclusive villas and an indoor-outdoor event venue, officials said Monday. All are scheduled for completion later this year, although a date hasn’t been set for their debut.
Known for using eco-friendly, sustainable technology, multinational water-project company Crystal Lagoons will develop the Hyatt’s expansive lagoon. It will be Crystal Lagoons’ first project inside a resort in the Central United States.
The water project will be accompanied by five 2,336-square-foot private villas, each with four bedrooms, an outdoor patio, a fully equipped kitchen and a dining area with a fire pit, among other amenities. Villa guests will have access to a private pool and 24-7 support from a special hospitality team.
Each villa will be named after Hill Country rivers, meaning guests will be able to book stays in the Guadalupe, Nueces and San Saba villas, to name a few.
Rounding out the list of new projects, a 5,600-square-foot, indoor-outdoor venue will overlook the lagoon. Design features of the barn-like event facility will include high-vaulted ceilings with exposed wood beams along with large glass doors and windows.
The design is created to enhance the effects of Texas sunlight filtering in through the venue, according to resort officials.
