Valero Energy faces a second lawsuit over the explosion last Monday at its massive refinery in Port Arthur, the Express-News reports. This filing also seeks certification as a class action, according to the daily.

The latest suit, filed by a person who lives near the refinery, accuses the San Antonio-based oil-and-gas firm of negligence. The plaintiff maintains the blast felt like “a train had collided directly with his house,” and he’s now seeking compensation to pay for the damages along with emotional distress he said he suffered, the Express-News reports.

The suit seeks $1 million in compensation, according to the newspaper.

The legal action follows days behind a separate suit filed by a worker at the refinery, who also accuses Valero of negligence. That plaintiff also is seeking $1 million, alleging he received injuries to his back, neck and spine from the explosion and now suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, according to a report from Reuters.

Officials with Valero, which operates 14 refinery operations in North America and the UK, declined comment on the suits to both the Express-News and Reuters.
