Would it surprise you to learn that the Lone Star State is the fourth worst state in the nation for gender equality?
According to an analysis by the personal finance website WalletHub, Texas is woefully behind the rest of the country when it comes to women’s equality.
The analysis considered three “key dimensions,” including workplace environment, education and political empowerment, along with 11 metrics.
Here’s how Texas ranked:
– 36th in earnings gap;
– 48th in executive positions gap;
– 21st in work hours gap;
– 38th in educational attainment gap;
– 29th in minimum-wage workers gap;
– 47th in unemployment rate gap;
– 16th in entrepreneurship gap; and
– 41st in political representation gap.
So what’s the best state in the nation for gender equality?
