Sen. Ted Cruz may have had a bad taste in his mouth after being heckled while dining at a Washington D.C. restaurant.
On Monday night, Cruz ran into a group of activists who oppose Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, chanting “We believe survivors!” The incident was caught on camera and, of course, shared to Twitter via @SmashRacismDC.
In the video, a woman confronts Cruz and tells him she’s a sexual assault survivor.
Cruz is a known Kavanaugh supporter despite the Supreme Court nominee being accused of sexual misconduct.
The senator appeared to be flustered, saying “God bless you, ma’am.”
Another activist bluntly told Cruz “Beto is way hotter than you, dude.”
Also on Monday, survivors of sexual assault gathered outside Cruz’s office in Austin to express support of Christine Blasey Ford and Deborah Ramirez, the women who have accused Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct in the ’80s.
