Your Annual Poop Alert for Visiting the Texas Coast

While you probably have your Memorial Day weekend plans in place to hit up Padre or Galveston, we'd like to remind you that you'll most likely be swimming in shit.

Well, not completely, but there is a high amount of fecal bacteria in the water at certain beaches.

A map on the Texas General Land Office's Beach Watch website shows just how much of this nasty bacteria is in the water. A quick glance at the map shows that most of the coast has low amounts of bacteria, but a closer look proves that some beaches are crappier than others.

In Corpus Christi Bay, there's a considerable amount of shit. There are spots along the bay, Mustang Island and Padre Island that have low levels, but a handful with medium levels. There are a few spots near Corpus, Galveston and even down on the Laguna Madre coast (not the restaurant) that have high levels.

Don't say we didn't warn you.
