What You’ll Do:
- Build and manage a healthy pipeline through prospecting, networking, referrals, and inbound leads.
- Set meetings with prospective clients
- Own the full sales cycle: discovery, proposal, negotiation, close, and relationship growth
- Develop thoughtful, customized advertising and sponsorship solutions based on client goals
- Maintain and grow an active book of business while continuously identifying new opportunities
- Collaborate closely with editorial, events, design, and marketing teams to deliver successful campaigns
- Represent San Antonio Current at client meetings, community events, and industry gatherings
- Track pipeline activity, forecasts, and performance in CRM
- Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals
Who You Are:
- A confident, consultative seller who knows how to build trust and close deals
- Comfortable selling both media products and integrated marketing solutions
- Relationship-oriented — you don’t disappear after the contract is signed
- Organized, self-directed, and disciplined with pipeline management
- Polished and credible with business owners, marketers, and senior decision-makers
- Energized by local culture, local businesses, and being out in the community
Qualifications:
- 3–5+ years of experience in media sales, advertising, or consultative B2B sales
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals
- Experience selling print, digital, sponsorships, or marketing services preferred
- Strong presentation, communication, and negotiation skills
- CRM experience (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar)
- Valid driver’s license and ability to attend in-person meetings in the San Antonio area
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base salary: ~$45,000
- Uncapped commission + performance bonuses
- Realistic total compensation for strong performers: $75,000+ within the first year, $90,000+ within years 2 – 3
- No cap on earning potential — results are rewarded
- Health benefits, paid time off, and additional perks
- Support from an experienced sales, creative, and events team
