A San Antonio mansion once owned by one of the city's biggest oil tycoons is for sale

A lavish home in the Dominion once owned by a former top exec of Ultramar Diamond Shamrock, the San Antonio-based oil and gas giant eventually gobbled up by even bigger Valero Energy Corp., has hit the market for $3.3 million.

The 7,600-square-foot mansion was owned by one-time Ultramar CEO Jean Gaulin from 2003 to 2010, according to Bexar County property records. It went on the sales block less than a week ago, an online listing shows.

Designed by renowned architect Roy Braswell and built in 2001, the four-bedroom, five-and-a-half-bath property has extravagances fit for someone used to life in the corner office. The listing brags about 100-mile-plus Hill Country views being available from every room, and the dwelling is perched on a 3.33-acre hilltop spread.

In addition to a massive master suite and a top-of-the-line kitchen, the home includes a spiral staircase that leads down to a special entertainment level with a game room, a bar and access to its sizable pool.
