San Antonio has an amazing culinary landscape, so the competition is fierce.

However, some restaurants are a cut above the rest — as demonstrated by the sheer volume of rave reviews they get on Yelp.

The review site’s list of most-beloved SA dining spots includes anything from casual holes in the wall to high-end James Beard semifinalists. Cuisines from around the world are also represented, including Japanese, Thai, Turkish, Venezuelan, Peruvian and beyond.

But for those craving flavors close to home, San Antonio’s top 25 Yelp list also includes Southern comfort food, burgers and Tex-Mex (duh).

Here are the top restaurants in San Antonio right now, according to Yelp users.

“As San Antonians we love Mexican food, but sometimes, isn’t there an itch to try something just a bit different, but not too different? Well, friends I have a recommendation for those moments! Bilia Eatery is restaurant offering fusion Latin fare, heavy on the Cuban, but also with South American variety as well.” – Rick R. Credit: Instagram / @biliaeatery
22. Danny Boy’s Hamburgers 1537 W. Summit Ave., (210) 736-1665, facebook.com/Danny-Boys-Hamburgers-273701852680767 “The wait, the long wait, is over!!! Danny Boy’s is back! The guy is a class act and I hope every burger lover in town makes their way here. About as chill and low key as a you can get for an establishment. You can have good conversation with the man himself. There’s literally 2 people that work here. Dan and the sweet old lady who has been holding the fort down for as long as I’ve gone. Sure there are no French fries; the burger makes up for it. They give you a bag of chips, have Mexican coke to wash your food down: there’s 2 TVs which Dan will usually be airing whichever sporting event is going on. Dan puts a lot of care in his craft and the fact he does this as a side gig, is hella impressive! Come give this place a try! One of the best burgers you’ll have in town!” – Yunnán C. The mussels, fries, and crab crepe were on point–packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. Every dish felt like it was made with care and real skill. The spot has a low-key, hole-in-the-wall vibe, but that just adds to its charm. It’s a true mom-and-pop operation with great service–friendly, fast, and no fuss. Prices are solid for the quality, making it easy to enjoy an incredible meal without breaking the bank. If you’re looking for great food without the pretense, this is the spot. 16. Brenner’s on the River Walk 215 Losoya St., (726) 215-8703, “Like many other locals I tend to eat off of the Riverwalk, but Brenner’s came highly recommended by a friend. They have different dining options depending on your mood: riverfront more in the hustle and bustle, indoor formal, or a cozy balcony with Riverwalk views. […] If you are craving a proper steak Brenner’s has some of the best options I have seen in town including a wagyu filet flown in directly from Japan. They also have American wagyu from Snake River Farms in Idaho, which I was excited to try. It was like butter.” – Marisa P. Credit: Courtesy Photo / Brenner's Steakhouse

12. Bliss 926 S. Presa St., (210) 225-2547, foodisbliss.com “Possibly the best restaurant in town. I haven’t stopped thinking about the Hamachi Tostadas. The octopus was some of the best I’ve ever had and was cooked to perfection. We reserved the chef’s table for a birthday and it was so cool seeing how the kitchen operates. Bliss is one of the few restaurants in SA with a chefs table available. We had the Chef’s tasting menu which is a 7 course meal. Everything we ate was incredible. I loved getting to try so many different things that I might not have ordered on my own. A wine pairing was available with the chefs menu, too.” – Shannon C. The server was friendly and offered suggestions and good answers to my questions. The food came out piping hot very quickly. The taste was so good!
