It's not always that a hundred-year-old home is as cute on the inside as it is on the inside. Or vice versa. Too often, renovations go awry or remake once-beautiful old houses into things they were never meant to be.

The owners of this charming two-bedroom, one-bath bungalow for sale in the Monticello Park neighborhood near Woodlawn Lake managed to get things right, both inside and out.

First, there's tons of curb appeal to the $375,000 home thanks to an abundance of colorful stucco, handmade tile and dark wood trim. The lush tropical foliage around the exterior prompted one real estate agent to dub the property "Las Palmas."

Inside, the open floor plan shows off the hard work the sellers put into an extensive renovation that included a modern kitchen with Viking appliances and quartz counters. But the crown jewel is the living room's soaring barrel vaulted ceiling, which somehow makes the room feel cavernous yet cozy and inviting.

Throw in a swimming pool and a back house with its own kitchenette and bath, and this is a hundred-year-old home that feels both classic, contemporary and muy San Antonio, all at the same time.

This home is listed by Kristin Kellum with Phyllis Browning Company.
