This San Antonio-area log cabin comes with its own on-site hobbit house

A hands-on couple recently listed the 3,800-square-foot log cabin they built near the Hill Country town of Center Point, and one its intriguing features is a hobbit home nestled on the 87-acre property.

One of the owners — a book editor by trade — had a longstanding love for J.R.R. Tolkien's work and convinced her tradesman husband to help create the quirky abode for pint-sized people. He relented after she explained that he either help her with that project or an on-site castle.

Empty nesters, the owners have since relocated to a slightly smaller property in East Texas, which is why they're selling the Center Point property for $2.25 million.

However, they still maintain a website, logging the construction and design of the whimsical home and their collection of "hobbity" things with which to fill it.
