Critic's Pick Release Date: 2011-03-16

Just last year, flame-haired Texan reality-show queen Lacey Conner (Rock of Love with Bret Michaels, Rock of Love Charm School) was tapped as lead singer for Lords of Acid, an overtly sexual Belgian band founded by Praga Khan (née Maurice Engelen), who credits “extensive experimentation with drugs” and “esoteric paths of self-deprivation and mutilation” for the group’s staying power on the industrial music scene. For this year’s SonicAngel tour, Khan seems to have found an even better fit with DJ Mea, a former club kid and go-go dancer with “radical sex appeal” who brings something new to vintage tracks like “Rough Sex” and “I Sit on Acid.” A new album inspired in part by the band’s fanbase, the Children of Acid, is in the works and set for release sometime this year. Also on the bill: Angelspit, Radical G., Chant, and When Words Attack. $18.50-$22, 8:30pm, Backstage Live, 1305 E Houston, (210) 224-2747, backstagelivesa.com, frontgatetickets.com.
