With just eight days until Congress votes on rolling back net neutrality rules, Texans have been flooding their Congressional representative’s inboxes with their concerns. Most of them are urging the lawmakers to vote against the newest Federal Communications Commission plan that would allow internet services providers like AT&T, Verizon, and Comcast to have ultimate control over what their customers see online — and how fast it loads.
To spread the word before the quickly-approaching vote, Texas voters have been sharing the responses they’ve received from Senators and Representatives on social media (largely Reddit).
It’s not a big surprise: all Republican members of Congress have sent form letters back to their constituents explaining why they’re opposed to net neutrality (they fail to mention one major reason, however). Instead of simply sharing all their vague responses, we’ve decided to do a little copy editing on a few standout paragraphs to bring some much-needed accuracy to their comments (click to enlarge the smaller-font ones).
