An apparent bomb exploded early Tuesday morning at a FedEx facility in Schertz, injuring one worker, Schertz police said in a Facebook post.

"Further investigation revealed the explosion came from a package in the sorting area of the facility," police said in the post. "One person was treated and released at the scene. We are currently working closely with several local and other Governmental agencies."

The explosion follows a string of four package-bombings in Austin that have left two victims dead and four injured since March 2. The most recent attack occurred Sunday night when a bomb, apparently detonated by a trip wire at a trailhead, wounded two men.

On Monday, Gov. Greg Abbott released $265,500 in emergency funding to the Austin Police Department and the Texas Rangers' bomb response unit to purchase seven portable x-ray systems to check suspicious packages.

Following this morning's explosion in Schertz, a city of nearly 40,000 northeast of the Alamo City, the San Antonio Police Department warned residents "to exercise caution if a package is delivered to your home or place of business." In a Facebook post, they highlighted what to look for to determine whether a package is legitimate.
