Firefighters responded to a structure fire on Monday, only to discover a haunting surprise inside.
First responders received reports of people stuck in the burning building on the 400 block of West Laurel Street, KENS 5 reports. However, when they arrived, they discovered the “people” trapped inside were just mannequins from a haunted house, according to the TV station.
Even though no injuries were reported, it only makes the story slightly less creepy.
The battalion chief told the KENS one side of the building was engulfed in flames due to excessive trash and mannequins filling the space.
It’s not the first time fire crews have been called to the location, according to the report.
