La Panadería — the San Antonio-based bakery chain known for handcrafted pan dulce, savory sandwiches and more — is expanding its local footprint with a fifth local location.

The bakery and cafe, founded by brothers José and David Cáceres in 2014, will mark is Stone Oak debut with a storefront scheduled to open this fall, according to details shared with The Current. However, the business didn’t reveal a specific grand-opening date for the brick-and-mortar store at 1011 N. Loop 1604 East.

Guests can expect La Panadería’s menu of favorites, from tortas and Mexican Cubano sandwiches to European and Mexican-inspired pastries, along with a covered patio and an assortment of cocktails. At 6,000 square feet, the Stone Oak location also will be the chain’s largest space yet.

The chain’s four existing Alamo City restaurants are located downtown, in Midtown, on Broadway and at La Cantera.

La Panadería has garnered nationwide recognition, having been recognized by newspaper USA Today as one of the Best Artisanal Bakeries in North America. It also secured a James Beard Award nomination in 2022.
