The San Antonio Spurs will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month during the team’s Saturday matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves by hosting events and giveaways before, during and after the game.
The Silver and Black’s celebration will get underway at 5 p.m. in the Frost Bank Center’s Ultra Club, where the first 1,000 fans will receive a Hispanic Heritage Night T-shirt. Mexican beer company Estrella Jalisco will provide giveaways and free samples during the pre-game gathering.
What’s more, Tejano music star Stefan Montiel will perform at Ultra Club before tipoff, during halftime and following the game. In celebration of Día de los Muertos, fans are also invited to bring a photo of a loved one to display at the Spurs’ community altar located at the club.
In addition to the giveaways and parties, the team’s nonprofit arm, Spurs Give, will donate $20,000 to the Mexican American Civil Rights Institute during the game.
Additionally, those who purchase a ticket package from the team will receive a free, limited-edition Spurs Hispanic Heritage jersey on a first-come, first-served basis.
Individual tickets for the Spurs’ Hispanic Heritage Month matchup start at $27 via Ticketmaster. Fans can text SOMOS to (210) 444-5940 to learn more about Saturday’s festivities and secure a jersey-plus-ticket package.
