A new study confirms what many San Antonians already know: our tattoo shops kick ass.

Alamo City tattoo parlors have better online rankings than those of any other major U.S. metro, according to a report released this week by German studio LL Tattoo. Researchers used the average Google review ratings of tattoo studios in the 50 biggest U.S. cities to determine the standings.

San Antonio shops dominated with an average rating of 4.38 stars out of Google’s maximum of five. Las Vegas came in a close second at 4.37. Meanwhile Denver, New York and Houston, in respective order, rounded out the study’s Top 5.

Texas tattoo shops performed well overall with both Fort Worth and Dallas joining SA and Houston near the top of the list. Fort Worth landed at No. 7 with an average rating of 4.25 and Dallas at No. 9 with an average rating of 4.2.
