Revolución Cafe’s planned Olmos Park satellite will open by the end of January or early February, management of the local chain told the Current in an online message.
The space, 223 E. Hildebrand Ave., Suite 101, was previously occupied by Greenhouse Coffee, a short-lived venture by the team behind Michelin star-winning modern Mexican restaurant Mixtli.
Revolución banners have been hanging outside the storefront since late fall, leaving some to wonder whether the plans are still moving ahead and whether the business would reveal an opening timetable.
Founded in 2012, Revolución is known for its responsibly sourced coffee roasted in-house. The roastery also features a menu of plant-based and locally sourced food available in eco-friendly packaging.
Specialty drinks at Revolución include the Mayan Mocha, Turmeric Spice Latte and the Red Velvet Latte, a red coffee concoction with milk, mocha, honey and beet. The Olmos Park location will join Revolución’s Alamo Heights flagship, a downtown outpost on Houston Street and a location in Austin. The chain also opened a location at The Rim, which later changed hands and became Terra Cafe.
