The Houston Police Union is openly recruiting NYPD officers following Zohran Mamdani’s historic win in Tuesday’s New York City mayoral election.
The police union for Texas’ largest city shared a social media post Tuesday night in a bid to lure New York cops with the promise of a more law enforcement-friendly environment.
“NYPD, are you disgusted with the election of Zohran Mamdani? Join us!” the post read.
The post went on to discuss the perks of fleeing the NYPD for Houston’s department, including competitive pay, a “supportive mayor and city council,” as well as a supportive governor, lieutenant governor and legislature.
Another selling point in the post boasted that the police chief is a retired Texas Ranger — “not a politician!”
The recruitment post also enticed carpetbagging coppers with the promise of “affordable housing” — as in, exactly what Mamdani ran on.
And if these perks weren’t enticing enough, the union also posted a comment with a map of all of Houston’s bagel shops. Yes, seriously.
So does Texas want New York refugees or not? Do these cops have to pay Abbott’s tariff?
